Oyo State Government on Tuesday disclosed that it will start the recruitment of teachers into all the primary schools, starting by the first quarter of 2021 to fill the vacancies arising from retirement, secondment and death.

Dr. Nureni Adeniran, the Chairman of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) , disclosed this while reviewing the achievements of the Board in the last 12 month, at the Board Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, the state capital .

Adeniran noted that due to the fact that the state had lost many of its teachers to retirement, secondment and death, it is expedient for the state to start the recruitment early to replace them.

He further stated that the board had commenced the preliminary procedures that would lead to the recruitment, adding that the present administration has been committed to the payment of all counterpart fund intervention projects
from its inception.

The chairman added that the state had also approved the payment of year 2020 #1.5 billion naira counterpart funds for all the primary school project to be completed which stands as the difference between the previous administration and the present administration.
