The Special Adviser to Oyo state government on Legislative Matters, Hon. Samuel Adejumobi (aka Agbara po) says the so called Oyo ALGON should stop parading themselves as ALGON because the constitution doesn’t recognize them as such again, and the ground that they are no more chairmen, thus, warned Prince Abass Aleshinloye and his colleagues of stop calling themselves ALGON.
Agbara po said this while featuring on a live radio programme on Splash 105.5 FM, anchors by Abiodun Adewole. In his words, he described the Local Government crisis of the All Progressive Congress as illegal and urged them to stop chasing after the wind.
He however stated that the suspension given to the Chairmen by Engr. Seyi Makinde is backed up legally as he further explained that the suspension was prompted as a result of the immediate past administration not carrying out the election in a legal manner.
“The law recognised 33 local governments in the state and the elections was meant to take place in 33 LGs but the then government conducted election for 68, including the LDCAs. That’s the error the APC government made.” he said.
Hon. Adejumobi is therefore hopeful that all Local Government activities will resume fully by next week. Also, the crisis will come to an end as the opposition party has no say over the local government matters.
“The Local Government crisis is not a battle between the APC and PDP but a battle between the APC and the good people of Oyo state. The masses has tasted the new PDP government and are ready to fight for their right.” Agbara po exclaimed.
