The ministry of women affairs and social inclusion, Oyo state has begun this year’s celebration of children’s day with Jumat prayer.
The prayer, which held at the secretariat mosque on Friday had in attendance, the commissioner for women affairs Alhaja Fausat Joke Sanni, the permanent secretary, Mrs. Abosede Abioye amidst other stakeholders in the ministry.
the chief Imam of secretariat mosque, Alhaji Imran Agboola Mustapha prayed for the state government under the leadership of Engr. Seyi Makinde, the ministry and the children.
Part of the activities of the event was the Arabic and English Quran recitation by Children’s representatives, Waliyulahi Muhammed and Muibat Sulaimon respectively.
In her reaction, the commissioner said, “I gave thanks to God almighty for giving us the opportunity to celebrate Children’s Day this year, because COVID-19 prevented us last year; and I equally express my profound gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for mankind it possible”
Finally, the commissioner presented a cash gift of two hundred thousand Naira to the mosque, curtesy of the state government.
