COVID-19: Buhari to address the nation today

Double A Exclusive Media recalled that, President imposed an initial four weeks lockdown on Lagos, Abuja and Ogun State due to increase in cases of COVID-19. Before another was added to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

The initial lockdown was eased on the 4th of May for an initial two weeks to enable Nigerians go about their daily activities and as well to revive the ailing economy.

As the first phase of the gradual easing of the coronavirus-enforced lockdown ends, the president of the nation, Maj Gen Muhammad Buhari (Rtd) will address the nation in a live broadcast on Monday, May 18, 2020.

This was made known by Aliyu Sani, the national coordinator of the presidential task force on COVID-19 when he appeared on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

According to Aliyu, the President will decide on whether or not the country should go ahead with the second phase of the easing of the lockdown.

It was gathered that, the task force members led by Mr. Boss Mustapha who is Secretary to the Government of the Federation met with the President at the State House in Abuja on Sunday, 17th of May, ahead of this week’s review of the current easing of the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja.
