Oyo LG Crisis: Oyo ALGON accuses NURTW of violence, says LG resumes duties

…says all we want is to continue to stand for the rule of law.

Oyo State Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria and the Chairman, Oluyole Local Government Area, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye in an interview with Double A Exclusive Media on Tuesday at the secretariat building declared that all local government chairmen has rightly and peacefully resumed office and all atrocities that might loom out is under control.

Double A Exclusive Media recalls that Oyo state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde on Monday has accused and therefore promised to bring full weight of law to bear on the criminal and violent takeover of the Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas’ secretariats by the dissolved illegal chairmen of All Progressives Congress APC.

Speaking briefly with Double A Exclusive Media, He made known to us that all Local government duties has resumed. “…almost all the Chairmen have had access to their offices. So far so good the only problem we have now are those people police need to quickly identify”

In his reaction to Gov. Seyi Makinde accusations he said, “they are members of NURTW, some of them going from one local government to the other, unleashing terrors of people. I just heard report that they just left Mapo now”

“If this people can be arrested at least it will serve as warning to others…all security agencies has been briefed about the activities of this people.” He said.

Prince shows his dissatisfaction towards Oyo state government led by Engr. Seyi Makinde to not have granted the Oyo ALGON request to meeting him let alone coming to terms and agreement.

“The Governor, for 8months of the crisis, has not even for ones call us for a meeting…we wrote him, the President of ALGON even wrote him and came down to Ibadan but he could not even see him.”

Also, in is exposition of plans on ground, “we already had a plan drawn for people on how to do the needful. Don’t forget that the last 8months, people at the grassroots has really suffered…”

“We already drawn a plan, we only go ahead to execute it, we sent a copy to the Governor, we only start our work in which we have been elected.” He said.

He therefore urged the people to be at peace as the Chairmen has lias with the DPO of their local areas to ensure tight security against loss of life and property.
