Nigeria’s elder statesman, Chief Bode George, says he has all it takes in terms of knowledge and experience to emerge the country’s number one citizen in 2023. Chief George who is an ex-deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said he would soon make his official position known on whether he will contest the presidential election in 2023 or not.
Report states that the elder statesman made the statement on Wednesday, January 29, in Lagos. Bode George says he will let his intentions on 2023 presidency known soon. UGC Chief George, however, said that the focus of everyone now is to hold the current government accountable to deliver on its mandate, adding that 2023 is still far away.
Meanwhile, the preparations for the 2023 presidential elections are now in top gear as the lead opposition PDP has kickstarted the move to produce a consensus candidate. The first step planned by the PDP was to engage its members nationwide so as to produce a consensus candidate who will be accepted by all. Report states that the party also plans to reconcile all its aggrieved members in a bid to put up a strong and united front and dislodge the ruling of All Progressives Congress (APC) from power in 2023.
