The Association of farmers under the umbrella body of “Oja-Agbe” led by the farmers ambassador of Oyo state, Chief Azeez Maboreje has taken a step further by visiting the caretaker chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Idi-Ayunre, to table the challenges facing agriculture and the way forward.
While reacting, Hon. Olaide Popoola alias “Settle”, The Caretaker chairman of Oluyole Local Government of Ibadan, Oyo state in the meeting held on Tuesday disclosed that his government with the support of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde is ready to revive agriculture in the local government.
Hon. Olaide Popoola Settle made this known to Double A Exclusive Media during the meeting held that, the purpose of this meeting is to dialogue with the farmers as to duly meet their major challenges that is hindering the agricultural sector of the local government.
In his words, “Through the support of God and Gov. Seyi Makinde, I have confidence that all their heart desires, challenges will be met. If Oluyole Local Government is not the best we will secure a good place in agricultural sector in the state.” he said.
He also made known to our correspondent that lots of plans he has in his manifesto concerning Oluyole local government area especially in agricultural sector.
However, this meeting was said to have been first if it kind in the history of the local government.
Speaking with Chief. Azeez Maboreje, farmers ambassador who also gazed the meeting stated that the major challenges of agriculture in Oluyole local government is lack of land to cultivate, lack of farm market and lack of mechanical tools.
Chief Maboreje also declared his delight in the meeting initiated by the Chairman where he described such as one of it kind and thus, bring progress to agriculture in the local government.
“We hope that all conclusions will be effected for good farming in this local government area. We believe in Hon. Settle and Gov. Seyi Makinde we just hope farming we have a better shape under their leadership.” Chief Azeez Maboreje said.
More so, the Caretaker-Chairman therefore used the medium to assure the good people of Oluyole Local Government that this present government is ready to serve them and to make people’s desires their priority.
Hence, he called for the prayer and support of the people if all these proposed dreams come to reality as he promised the farmers that lands will be made available for their use and other needs will be met.
