A mattress shop worth of #5million was razed by fire at a commercial building, beside Lamini Mosque, Bus-Stop Gate, Ibadan, Oyo state around the hours of 6:30pm-7pm on Monday.
The fire was triggered by electricity wire that got melt with a nylon according to report gathered by Double A Exclusive Media.
The owner of the shop, a young man who in tears spoke to our correspondent, Yusuf Adekunle the evil of his burnt shop with his life.
A man with no one to help. “I have nobody to share my ordeal with, I have been living and struggling alone. So, I wonder where to start from.”
“All I have is gone in a moment. It was sad that I added new mattresses worth #3million to the ones I have already which make it a sum of #4 to #5 million in the shop.”
“I got #200, 000 worth of foam rescued out of #5million. How do I start my life again” he said.
The young man therefore appeal to Oyo state government to come to his rescue by helping him to bring his burnt business back to life. “I beg Engr. Seyi Makinde to give an helpful look on my side through my burnt business. May he also see helpers.” He said as he burst into tears.
Speaking with one Mr. Moshood Adewuyi, Deputy Director, Oyo State Fire Service, he stated vividly to the people of Oyo state to be mindful of ancient buildings that have been in existence for long because such buildings get razed by fire easily.
Also, he stated that Oyo state fire service will always be on their toes to rescue any fire victim in the state as he prayed against such incidence in the state.
